Now that Training Camps are in full gear, time for daily updates on what's happening around the NFL ...It's been about a week since I last harassed Brady Quinn, so let's get back at it. Thanks to Peter King I'm reminded of a quote from the 22nd pick earlier this year:
"I want teams to know how much I love this game. I want to play football 'til they drag me out of the game. I want to be like Flutie, or Favre."I can think of one really good way to let teams know, particularly one team of importance, that you really love football and just want to play. Keep up the good work, bozo.
A few notes from the Hall of Fame Game last night:
- Best quote of the day from KSK: One game does not a season make, but the Saints will need better play at the corner if they are to repeat last year's success. McKenzie couldn't guard a fencepost, much less Cedrick Wilson last night. Two loudmouths are seeking some relief. Joey Porter may be looking at knee surgery which would shelf the former Steeler for at least the preseason. Have to wonder if Pittsburgh and any inkling about Joey's deteriorating knees? Terrell Owens missed another practice and had an MRI on his back today. I'm not going to put any stock into injury news around TO. He may be injured to some degree, but we all know his adversion to preseason practice. He'll be fine once it's gametime.
- Good start for Tomlin, Roethlisberger
- Saints didn't do a whole lot right last night, except for provide future motivation.
Colts need to pick Booger's replacement. Bad news for Indy, losing DT McFarland for the season. Rookie Quinn Pitcock will now get a chance earlier than expected.
Discuss.
