NFL Training Camp News: Brady Quinn, JaMarcus Russell Mistakenly Continue Holdouts
READ MORE:
NFL
Now that several teams have reported and donned full pads, it's time for some daily updates on the news stories that aren't big enough for their own posts ...

Brady Quinn is still not in camp. Reportedly they are getting closer, while at the same time criticize is growing stronger. Get in camp, dude. For a guy who basically named himself the Browns starting quarterback this summer, if he missing another week he's not going to see the field during any critical minutes.

JaMarcus Russell negotiations appears to be in worse shape: "Embarrassing." So bad they've even brought in Daunte Culpepper to work out. Russell is asking for $30 million in guaranteed money, while the Raiders are matching last year's #1 pick number - 26.5. Contract holdouts from rookies is something I'll never understand.

With training camp comes many injuries. Here's a good conversation starter -- What injury can your team NOT afford? I'll start, and it should be obvious based on last year, the Bears can't lose Tommie Harris again.

Speaking of which, San Francisco can't lose Frank Gore. He IS injured, but it's unlikely to cause any regular season damage. Still have to worry that this guy seems to get banged up more often than most.

Discuss.

These moron QB's are damaging their careers by being idiots and holding out.  Neither of these guys are that special IMO.  Neither of these guys have anything on Leinart, Cutler, or Young from last year.  If they were in that draft, they'd been lucky to be at the end of the 1st round.

Also, the 49ers have to be extremely careful with Gore.  They have no backup running back that is worth ANYTHING, and if he goes down, that offense will probably go down with him.

Brady Quinn is such an idiot! He drops a lot farther than projected and still expects to get paid like a top 5 pick! Look at the history of players who are drafted and hold out it usually doesn't turn out too good. Not that a career as the Browns quarterback could turn out good!

Quinn SHOULD have gone higher in the draft.  Not a russell fan myself, but they are both morons.  get in the game already if you want to play.
