As the NFL season begins, it's time to make your predictions for the Week 1 games. This might be the hardest week of all, because we really know very little about the teams. Last year means nothing, and the preseason means even less. We think we know where teams stand, but in the end, Week 1 is a crapshoot.

Now that I've sufficiently made excuses for my predictions, here they are:

Broncos at Bengals
FanIQ Prediction: Broncos 21, Bengals 18
My pick: Bengals 33, Broncos 17
-The Bengals will show off their rejuvenated offense against a very bad Broncos team.

Jaguars at Colts
FanIQ Prediction: Colts 27, Jaguars 17
My pick: Colts 21, Jaguars 20
-Maurice Jones-Drew will run all over the Colts, but it won't quite be enough.

Dolphins at Falcons
FanIQ Prediction: Tie, 20.6-20.6
My pick: Falcons 34, Dolphins 10
-The Falcons are the real deal this year. They'll be one of the best teams in the NFC, while the Dolphins will painfully come back down to Earth.

Chiefs at Ravens
FanIQ Prediction: Ravens 24, Chiefs 13
My pick: Ravens 20, Chiefs 6
-The Ravens defense isn't what it used to be, but against the Chiefs, it won't matter.

Eagles at Panthers
FanIQ Prediction: Eagles 23, Panthers 20
My pick: Eagles 27, Panthers 24
-I think that the Eagles will win this one, but it's not going to be pretty.

Cowboys at Buccaneers
FanIQ Prediction: Cowboys 25, Buccaneers 17
My pick: Cowboys 30, Buccaneers 13
-The Cowboys aren't a good team... but the Bucs are downright terrible.

Lions at Saints
FanIQ Prediction: Saints 24, Lions 14
My pick: Saints 38, Lions 23
-The Lions will definitely win a game this year... just not this one.

Jets at Texans
FanIQ Prediction: Texans 20.3, Texans 19.9
My pick: Texans 23, Jets 10
-Mark Sanchez, meet Mario Williams. You two will become quite friendly by the end of this game.

Vikings at Browns
FanIQ Prediction: Vikings 25, Browns 16
My pick: Vikings 17, Browns 9
-Be prepared for the flood of undeserved Favre praise, even though a pack of trained monkeys could beat the Browns.

Rams at Seahawks
FanIQ Prediction: Seahawks 22, Rams 16
My pick: Seahawks 20, Rams 14
-This might be the Week 1 Toilet Bowl.

Redskins at Giants
FanIQ Prediction: Giants 25, Redskins 17
My pick: Redskins 23, Giants 16
-I think the Redskins will pull off the road upset here. However, confidence points = zero.

49ers at Cardinals
FanIQ Prediction: Cardinals 24, 49ers 18
My pick: Cardinals 31, 49ers 27
-The 49ers might surprise a lot of people and win their division. But not this game.

Sunday Night Football: Bears at Packers
FanIQ Prediction: Bears 22, Packers 21
My pick: Packers 17, Bears 13
-These teams might battle it out in the end for NFC North Supremacy.

Monday Night Football: Bills at Patriots
FanIQ Prediction: Patriots 30, Bills 16
My pick: Patriots 41, Bills 3
-Yeah, I'm a homer. Wanna fight about it?

Monday Night Football: Chargers at Raiders
FanIQ Prediction: Chargers 26, Raiders 17
My pick: Chargers 29, Raiders 10
-The Raiders are dysfunctional, and they'll (once again) display that on Monday.

Feel free to share your picks, and/or tell me why mine are so awesome. Or why they suck... whichever you prefer. And don't forget to make your picks on our Pick 'Em page.

You mean a game can't end in a 20.6-20.6 tie?  Don't let Donovan McNabb know, it might just blow his mind (again).

Well, Pat, it's time for the NFL's 90th season, and the 51st year in a row without a NFL, or Super Bowl appearance for my beloved Detroit Lions. To ask a rookie head coach, and a rookie QB, to take a team that has lost 17 games in a row, dating back to the final game of the 2007 season, and on the road in the NFL, is asking to much.

I hope the Lions play well, and show improvement over last year...ok, it has to be better, yes. I think the Lions were smart to start Stafford, because the only way to get better, to win, is to play.
The Lions have alot of the future on display this weekend, i just hope that Stafford gets some protection from the O-line, and he survives the game healthy.
This will be my 40th year as a Lions fan, from Greg Landry, and Mike Lucci, thru Gary Danielson, Billy Sims, The Silver Rush of 1980, thru the great Hall of Famer Barry Sanders, the 1991 NFC Championship Game, thru Herman "Thunder Foot" Weaver, Bill Munson, Erik Kramer, Hall of Famer Lem Barney, thru Joey Harrington, Scott Mitchell, Jeff Komlo, thru Wayne Walker, and a pair of Lions Defensive Backs, named Dick LeBeau, and Dick Jauron. Yes, allot has transpired in 40 years as a Lions Fans, most of it not very good. One Playoff win, a 38-7 win over Dallas in 1991, and the 10 years we got to see Barry sanders play.
Being a Lions fan is not easy, to say the least, including watching one of your heroes, Lions WR Chuck Hughes, who collapsed, and died on the Tiger Stadium grass on October 24th, 1971. What a thing for an 11 year old boy to witness watching his favorite team.
The Lions will always be in my heart, they are my team, win or lose.
Here's to another season of Detroit Lion Football, the Honolulu Blue and Silver.
Go Lions.!

I am under no circumstances a Patriots fan, but I think the final score will be closer to Pat prediction than the fans prediction. I am a Jags fan though and you guessed it, I'm calling an upset, Jags 30 Colts 28, won on the leg of my hero, Josh Scobee.

I'll take the niners to win the upset in AZ. Cards are coming off the super bowl loss and samurai mike hasn't worn out his welcome yet in SF, so he'll get these guys ready. Last year the niners were one blown, stupid run play from beating AZ on MNF. They won't make that same mistake this year.

Can't wait for the Bears and Packers, although I'm not anticipating a lot of fun watching Aaron Rodgers against the Bears' pitiful secondary.

Be front and center for the Bears game, at my house , that is. Also will be doing the Vikings game, kinda like slowing down at an accident, you just cant help but look!

And the Q only predicting the Saints score 24 points....have you seen this offense the last three years?  They may get that by halftime.

The Rams Seattle game will be an offensive struggle and may set back football about 40 years.

Rams 17 Seahawks 13
