Two very exciting finishes, and then that other game. Let's look:Colts Top The Steelers 24-20: Often times, turnovers determine games. And this one was no different. The Colts didn't turn the ball over. Ben Roethlisberger threw 3 interceptions, two which led to touchdowns. Pretty much every other statistic was controlled by the Steelers. Manning only was 21 for 40, but he had three touchdowns. One of which set up by an interception late in the 2nd, and the other on an interception late in the 4th.
The Colts took the lead with 3 minutes left, Dominic Rhodes caught a TD pass. And the Steelers had a chance at the end. With one second left, they tried the 40 yard chuck. Off the first deflection, it ALMOST fell right into Steeler Dallas Baker's hands. But Melvin Bullitt grabbed it with one hand for the interception. The Colts are now 5-4, still in the wild card hunt. The Steelers are 6-3, tied with the Ravens for the division.
Panthers Win Awful 17-6 Game Against Raiders: Here's how bad the Raiders are. Jake Delhomme was 7/27, 72 yards, 4 Interceptions. And the Panthers still won by two possessions. The Panthers are a very sold 7-2, and the Raiders are 2-7.
Chargers Just Hold On Over Chiefs 20-19: Tyler Thigpen played the game of his life. 27/41, 266 and 3 touchdowns. Two turnovers by the Chargers also kept the Chiefs in this game despite being outgained on the yard. But special teams are huge. Early on, there was a botched snap/hold on an extra point for the Chiefs. That would be HUGE as the Chiefs would move down the field at the end.
The Chiefs got set up at the one on an AWFUL pass interference call. Then, with 23 seconds left, Thigpen found Tony Gonzalez on a great catch for a touchdown. If they hadn't missed the earlier extra point, they would've been able to win the game on the extra point. Instead, Herm Edwards decided to go for the two point conversion instead of the tie. Some would call it ballsy, some would call it stupid. The play itself that was called was pretty crappy though, as it failed, and the Chargers barely managed to hold on, as Gus Johnson's head exploded in the booth. The Chargers are 4-5, and the Chiefs are 1-8.
Another great week of football, and we've got a good one coming up here late. NFL Football owns.
