Most NFL bettors probably saw this one coming a few weeks ago, but the Denver Broncos will be the largest favorite in NFL history on Sunday when they face the Jacksonville Jaguars during Week 6. Peyton Manning and company opened between 27.5 and 28 points, and bettors jumped all over that spread as nearly two-thirds of the early actions has been wagered on Denver to cover. If bettors continue to flood the Jacksonville/Denver line, the spread could easily move to 30 points by the time the game is set to start.
The last time a spread reached the 27-point mark was back in 1976 when the Pittsburgh Steelers were a 27-point favorite over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Steel curtain went on to easily cover the spread as they won 42-0. In other games the Seahawks are 13.5-point favorites over the Titans and the 49ers are 12-point favorites over the Cardinals. Here is a quick look at the opening lines for Week 6 of NFL action.
