Rams/Lions is We suck vs. We suck to see who sucks worst.

The Redskins go against the Bye, and I have the Bye winning by three touchdowns.

You are so right my friend, that Rams/Lions game is one for the ages. Between the two teams, they have won 3 of there last 37 games.  The loser puts themselves in the drivers seat for a top 3 pick in next years draft.

Can we have a moment of silence to remember back 71 yrs ago. It was on this day, in 1938, that "the little horse that could" Seabiscuit ran for the common man and defeated the all-mighty superhorse War Admiral before 40,000 screaming fans in the Pimlico Special winner take all match race. George Wolf saddled Seabiscuit to the win but it was the heart and determination of SEABISCUIT that won the hearts of millions and showed once again that anyone can succeed in life despite the odds. HAIL SEABISCUIT.
Now I return you to your local broadcast and GO COLTS................

ESPN is reporting that Favre has been dealing with a sinus infection this week that has prevented him from fully participating in Viking practices.  I smell excuses if Favre struggles against the Packers

Well I see Brett Favre coming back to Lambeau is a BIG DEAL.  Most of the fans are taking it personal but what most people don't understand is that it was the Packers decision to let Favre go - they wanted to build the franchise around Aaron Rodgers.  Now while Brett couldn't decide whether he was going to retire or not was something totally different. I think most of the hatred comes from him going to the Vikings of all teams - their rival...

End of 3 in Indy.... Still 49ers 14-12. Colts driving again tho (which has meant a dropped pass followed by a sack in the redzone followed by a Stover FG all day long)

Lot of frustration for Peyton today between the 49ers pressure and the drop passes. He's had his share of poor passes or throw aways indeed. Peyton will probably admit after this is over it was one of the more frustrating days hes had in quite a while.  That said... hes stil 24-40 for 274 yds.

I would agree 49ers all game have waited till the last second on defense to get on the line, hard to get a good look and call audibles like that. 49ers have had there number this game so far.

Thats true but it has been basically a 4 man rush all day (for both teams) and they are getting excellent pressure on Manning (and Smith). Peyton has had 9ers nipping at his feet all game long. Peyton hasn't seen the end of a play from his back this much since his Freshman days at Tennessee.

Never listen to experts-- unless the expert is me.

On the fantasy front, lucky me, I had to have T.O. start on both my teams, and lo and behold, he scores! Even if it was a rushing TD-- that figures-- but it's six points either way.

Whatever. Beating the Cowboys, Patriots, and Chargers in consecutive games is not "lucky," nor is it a "dream." McDaniels is nothing if not an immaculate preparer. They will have an excellent game plan in place and win at home against the Steelers.

The 49ers seem content letting Smith take snaps under center. I think they want to give the illusion that they may run.... but I think its a mistake not putting Smith in shotgun and letting him have more time to find a receiver.
Another sack by the Colts and the 9ers have to punt. Freeney finally gets the best of OT Sims who has done an excellent job on Freeney since replacing Staley on the first series of the game.

Ya denver is such an abberation. Lost a game on the road to a ravens team that had to win. Denver  will do fine next week at home. McD will have Denver ready. A team doesnt start 6-0 by mistake, unless you really dont understand the game

Oh Cmon. They beat 3 teams that were really struggling at the time (Cowboys, Chargers and Pats) and had a one in a million play in Cincinatti fall right in their lap to escape with an undeserved win there. It may not be luck.... but they are far from an elite team that strikes fear in opponents sorry to say. But keep rooting them on. They will make the playoffs .... then its more than likely one and done. IMO

I feel there is way too much hype and unrealistic behavior on the part of the Fans and the Media concerning Bret Farve, being a member of the Vikings.  I hear what people are saying and I am a die hard fan for my tam but come on people, let us not be so obtuse or hyper-critical of the man he has his own hypocrisies just as most of us do so what are people bitching. I see it as a long marriage that either went sour or a spouse expired and the surviving individual re-marries.  Give the man a break it's not like he did not work hard for the packers who were not winners after Bart Starr left and Farve arrived.

As usual.... the "idiots" behind the microphone continue to focus on Favre. But this Pack / Vike game will all come down to how well the Green Bay offensive line plays .... opening holes for the running game against a staunch Vike D and protecting Rodgers so he can pass.

I agree with you in saying Denver should be considered one of the best in the league and a 6-0 start is no way a fluke. However, Pats would be considered a premier team, San Diego, at no point this season was, they were just given the AFC West by default but many doubted them making any kind of moves in the playoffs seemingly like every year. And then Dallas I don't think has ever been considered a premier team in the NFL the past 10 years; good, yes, but not "premier". All that said, 3 still very good wins, and Baltimore had to win today's football game no matter what and not lose 4 in a row and at home.

Damn you edit button...

A bonehead play by Johnny Jolie costs Packers dearly. FG.... NO! Lets give them 4 more tries at a TD. And oh btw.... the Vikes have that Peterson guy............. TD Vikings     7-3

3rd sack ALREADY for Minnesota. I guess my question as to how well will the Pack O-Line play today is being answered.   Thus,  Vikes 14-3 and taking over again near midfield. This may get ugly quickly.

I'd say it was a reaction to his own stupidity by going for it on 4th and one instead of just taking the 3 points.  As long as the Vikings keep putting points up, even if its just field goals, they're going to win.

i agree with that. They seem to try and take what the defense gives them too much. When Orton  plays bad and they dont try and stretch the opposing defense its gonna be a long day. I dont see them losing to the steelers in Denver. ( then again I am a homer so. . . ) No worries I guess we will see what happens next week. At least they still have 2 games w/ KC, 1 w/ oakland and the skins, so barring a total colapse I see them with atleast 10 wins

I think that's a bit harsh. Denver has a pair of solid running backs, great receivers in Brandon Marshall and Eddie Royal, and Kyle Orton has shown why he's been underrated ever since he took over at Purdue when Drew Brees graduated. To say their offense is "lame" in an league that features offenses like Detroit, St. Louis, Cleveland, et. al.-- no, those offenses are lame. The Broncos will not be high flyers but with their now outstanding defense (despite today's hiccup) their offense is more than adequate enough to win any game.

Once the Pack shores up it's offensive line, they're going to be devastating.   I just hope Rogers doesn't get hurt too bad this year because the current line isn't doing it's job.

I hate the guy because ignorant fools try to sit there and talk about how great he is. The fact is that he's a decent QB right now, and he's surrounded by an absurd amount of talent. There are quite a few QB's who are much better than him right now, including the guy who was on the other side of the field today. But since Aaron Rodgers doesn't have the best RB in the league, a ridiculously good offensive line, the Williams Wall and Jared Allen, we have to instead hear about Brett Favre. It's idiotic. It really is.

If that team had concentrated on putting their full support behind Sage Rosenfels instead of pursuing Brett Favre, they would still be an outstanding team right now.

11/1/09
1
Well now that Brett Favre has accomplished his goal of sticking it to Ted Thompson and his former team, I hope next offseason he truly does retire

11/1/09

I agree with that....I was a HUGE supporter of Rosenfels.  I also agree that Rogers will be the Packers QB for a very long time--and a great one no less.  Even so, if I see a show that starts with a Favre segment, I change the channel for a few minutes; if I see a news article I don't want to read, I won't read it.  The irony is that there are people who bring in a lot of articles that also fuel the fire.

I, for one, am as sick of the Favre-o-philia as I am the Favre-o-phobia.

Another (separate irony) is that I just got a really cool message from a Packer fan (to remain unnamed).  This individual presented a very honest and at the same time a very inspirational analysis of Brett.  It's understandable how difficult it is to see him in Viking purple, but as a fan of football it was also really cool to see him back in Lambeau field.  Regardless, for the fans to boo him before and after the football game as they did, and ignore a 16 year history which only included 1 losing season, 3 MVP's, 2 trips to the Superbowl and 1 Superbowl victory after over 30 years of hardly making the playoffs was (IMHO as a fan of the game of football in general) a very unfortunate, fickle, and classless display.

I didn't hate Alan Page after he was released by the Vikings and went to the Bears after almost 20 years with the Vikings.  Players moving on is a part of the game.

11/1/09
3
But the thing is... Packers fans didn't love Brett Favre because he was Brett Favre... they loved him because he was a Packer. He is no longer a Packer . He is now a Viking, AKA the enemy. So they owe him nothing.

11/2/09
0
LOL.....well some people will rationalize anything in order to fulfill their own desired perspectives.  It doesn't take away that today's display by the fans at Lambeau rendered the worst acts of character by a home crowd that I have ever seen.  I've been watching the Vikings (and football in general) for 37 years--and IMO the Packer fans embarrassed themselves more today than any other game, in any other sport, I have ever witnessed in this country.

COLTS defense played exceptionally well (except for the 1 play in the first quarter allowing Frank Gore to scamper straight up the gut for 64 yd TD). They pressured and sacked Smith all day long, played tight D on Rec's and tackled well. On the offfensive side..... the 49ers D played equally well. They were in Peyton's face most of the day. Knocked him down constantly and sacked him more than he'd been sacked all year. Some dropped passes by Collie and Basket along with timely sacks by 9ers D kept the game close by forcing Indy FG's. Colts could have scored at end of the game to make it a wider margin but took a knee and ran the clock out at the 9er 17 yd line. Colts needed a competitive contest the way they had been blowing people out lately. I think it did them good to be in rather close one for a change.
49ers looked like anything BUT an average team. Look for them to contend for a NFC playoff spot as the season unfolds.
