NFL Wild Card: Jacksonville Jaguars vs Pittsburgh Steelers Live Thread

You're probably wondering who that fine gentleman is above. Basically, the coolest Steelers fan around that coincidentally is a good friend's grandpa. Say hi to papa Stiller.

Everyone and their sister is convinced the Jaguars will repeat their earlier defeat of the Steelers at Heinz "Field." We shall see.

FanIQ says Jaguars (69%)
All ESPN "experts" - Jaguars
Peter King - Jaguars
Pete Prisco - Jaguars

I'm biased, but I like Big Ben to open it up tonight without Willie Parker. Should be fun, Q it up here.

CF, just curious, why do you have a large of a man crush on Ben as Madden does with Favre?

Did Madden just say "We have all had to make that choice" when talking about cutting one QB in favor of another? I guess he knows that almost everyone in America plays Madden Football.

Since Pat doesn't appear to be around, I'll fill in for him...

Roethlisberger is the worst QB ever. He is the worst human being ever. He steals pennies from the jar at 7-11 (NOT the tray). He was also responsible for the Macarena.

Did that sound about right?

It's a shame they went with him being touched, rather than his hair being out of bounds. That would have been a great explanation to hear from the ref.

I disagree with that call, I believe that was a catch.

Michaels explained the timeout, that's why he's still the best play-by-play in sports.

With that, it's also Roethlisberger's fault for the poor housing market, oil prices, and Crocs.

Roethlisberger also came up with the BCS, put Illinois in the Rose Bowl, and picked Kansas over Missouri for the Orange Bowl.

Two terrible calls by the refs in the game. That was definitely a catch close to the end of the half and that block below the waist on Pittsburgh on Jax's INT return for a TD was a joke. The guy was diving for the tackle and a Jag OL tripped over him and he gets flagged. Wasn't a game changing call or anything, I just can't stand to see stupidity from refs.

That's why you don't chase points.  If they just kick the last two extra points, they lead by 3.  Never chase points.

Plus, I don't Davenport was even in to begin with.

You guys are getting it down. And as much as CF will still be spreading the manlove on Big Ben for years to come, the fact remains that Ben's horrible play in the first half was crucial in deciding that game.

And as a Patriots fan, this game was very encouraging. The Steelers offense was incredibly mediocre, and made the Jags' defense look very good at times. But knowing how bad the Steelers were playing, it makes me realize how easy next week's game will be. Either the Jaguars will come get rolled over, or the Titans will get obliterated, if they somehow beat the Chargers.

Jaguars would have run the ball in for a touchdown if the Stealers had 31.  They were being conservative in that last minute.
