We're two more BCS blowouts away from competitive football again this weekend with NFL's Wild Card games. I'd be stunned if we see a deficit by more than 10 points. Here are the current spreads and some early thoughts:
Redskins (+4) at Seahawks
This sounds crazy, but now that Washington has an experienced Todd Collins under center I'm leaning strongly to picking the Skins to win outright. Collins limiting mistakes and Clinton Portis running like a man possessed will be the perfect ammunition to quiet the 12th man. Mid-week prediction: Skins 20, Seahawks 17.
Jaguars (-2) at Steelers
I know they won a few weeks ago in Pittsburgh, but it's hard to believe the Jags are favored on the road. Despite a makeshift offensive line, I view the early loss as added motivation. Look for Big Ben to open up the passing game with Parker absent. Steelers 28, Jaguars 24.
Giants (+2.5) at Bucs
The game isn't even sold out. At $545 a pop, you couldn't pay me much to watch this live without the ability to turn away. Against my better judgment, I'll go with Eli to Plax for a late touchdown. Giants 17, Bucs 16.
Titans (+9) at Chargers
Norv Turner was brought in to win playoff games and now must do so against a team who appears to own San Diego for 3 and a half quarters. Chargers 24, Titans 16.
