Blog Photo - NHL 13 cover vote going on now

The NHL 13 cover athlete voting is down to the Sweet 16. Right now, you can vote on the left side of the ballot at the NHL website.

With his incredible performance in the first round of the playoffs, I'd say Claude Giroux set himself up nicely. As a Bruins fan, though, I'll be rooting for Tyler Seguin.

If I had to pick a final four, I'd predict Giroux, Datsyuk, Pekka Rinne, and the Stamkos-Malkin winner. I'm not sure if they're going to re-seed like the real NHL playoffs, but those are my picks.

In the end, I think Giroux will win it. Especially if he keeps playing the way he's playing now.

Who's your pick for the NHL 13 cover athlete? Who deserves the honor the most out of these players, and who do you WANT to win?

This isn't fair, putting the Rocket Richard winner (Stamkos) and the Art Ross winner (Malkin)  against each other in the first round?!indecision

where's alexander ovehckin, the greatest player on the planet? it's a joke not to have him included

Ovie had a "bad" year for his standards.  He turned it on very late, but he wasn't the same Ovechkin most of the year.

Whoever wins the trophy for best goalie should grace the cover

I don't think he even made it into the voting process this year. Round one (the player vs. player per team round) had John Carlson and Brooks Laich up against each other.

I'm okay with Lundqvist as long as the Madden jinx doesn't make it over to NHL '13...

I'm pretty sure that doesn't cross over - I can't remember for sure, but it seems like that's pretty NFL exclusive.

My vote is Lundqvist. If he doesn't make it, Rinne. I heart my goalies and my stupid Ducks are crappy right now and not even up there. Although, it would be cool if Frankenberry got it for Ms. Teach.
