Five games on this great Monday November night in the NHL and of course one of them is on Versus. That means National TV! Hope you can find the station…Tonight’s Versus game is between two Original Six teams, the Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs. Boston is 8-1-1 in the past ten games and has bumped up into second place in the Eastern Conference. They’ve been doing it with defense, and the Bruins overall are ranked 2nd defensively in the league.
On the other side of the puck, Toronto is having a decent start. It’s better than the past two or three years, but there is still some work to be done. Brian Burke is now free from Anaheim to talk to other teams, and you can bet they are talking to him. This team plays well at home and has some big upsets on Hockey Night in Canada. We’re just waiting for their play on Saturday’s national stage to carry over throughout the week. The Maple Leafs are 8th in scoring this year, which is going to be key against a good Bruins team.
So far this year these teams have played twice, both matchups in Boston. Toronto won the first game while Boston came back to win the second. I’m taking Toronto in the upset tonight.
