Kings and Sens make huge jump, Sabres sink to the bottom [NHL Power Rankings]

As expected, there was a lot of movement among the power rankings after last week. This week's blog covers the week of 2/18 - 2/25.

Again, these are relatively close to the actual rankings but with minor shifts due to schedule strength and team performance.

A few teams have kicked it into high gear, while one team in particular has hit a brick wall. The biggest story of the week is probably the Los Angeles Kings, who have started playing like champs again, currently on a 4-game win streak and showing no signs of slowing. Chicago is still sitting comfortably at the top, having gone undefeated in regulation since the season began. If the Ducks aren't careful, there are a couple of teams ready to knock them down a couple of pegs. The Penguins dropped a spot for no other reason than the fact that the Habs are on a tear, and the Sabres are just a hot mess.

Again, there are discrepancies between mine and the experts, and probably yours. What would you have done differently?

I am so impressed with both the Sens and the Jets.  Sens just want you to beat them up again, because it only makes them win more.

Jets just got tired of people still calling them by their `former name`and said screw you all, we`re going to win.

Unfortunately forced to agree with my Sharks at #19.  Maybe I'm being impatient but it might be time to blow them up and start over...  sad

Maybe the Pens can be the team to stop the Habs.  After all nearly half of the team did play in his system. ;)
