Welcome to the Thursday night NHL live thread.  There are 10 games on tap for tonight, and the action starts at 7:00 on the east coast and works westward as the night goes on.  I really wanted to use "Earth, Wind, and Fire" in the title of this thread, but the Flames screwed it up by having the night off.  Here's tonight's lineup...

The Pens lost both Mike Zigomanis and Tyler Kennedy last night, hopefully they're only out for this game.  That means Jani Pessonnen (sp) and Chris Minard were called up...blah!

 Yeah well, Michael Leighton is in goal, Paul Maurice is behind the bench, and Justin Williams is Back from ACL (which everyone thinks is too soon).  I'll be impressed if the Canes don't lose by more than 2.

Regardless, it's pretty sad that the 'Canes gave up a goal there.  The Pens do have the worst PP in the league on the road. :/

I think the Canes have the worst PP in the league, although, penalty kill is usually good.  and as i started typing this the second was scored.

I'm curious as to who's really gonna get credit for that 4th goal.  They gave it to Crosby, but that's debateable.

Yeah Crosby and Dupuis never touched it.  Satan tried to wrap it around and when Crosby & Dupuis waved at the puck, it was already under LaRose in the goal.

Nope, they gave it to Satan, he was the last Pens player to touch it.  Meanwhile the 'Canes just scored, the Pens can't sit on this lead or they will lose.

I know I picked whoever the Pens player was for tonight, but I don't remember who was on Tom's list tonight, I'm gonna go check on that.

By the way, the Pens have only 14 shots on goal.

Oh I think they'll get more in the 3rd period.  They may have 20 shots by the end of the night.

A shoutout to all hockey fans about the NHL Network....i love this channel, i have only the mon.-tues. Versus games, and an occasional Lightning game in the jax., fla. market...@ 9pm on the east coast, if there is no game on, they have the "NHL on the Fly", a studio show that re-caps every game, and also goes "live" to games in progress. This is my main way to keep up with the Red Wings, and hockey in general. Check it out...they also show NHL Live, the daily  NHL radio call in show, simulcast on XM radio, and t.v.  The NHL is great, especially when you are holding the CUP. GO WINGS!!
