Who's Gonna Pull Off the Blockbuster 11th Hour Deal? [NHL Trade Deadline Open Thread]

The NHL Trade Deadline is upon us once again.  In fact, the deadline is Monday at 3:00 PM ET.  Welcome to our live tracker of all the moves made by GMs, including ones made in the 11th hour.  Who's getting dealt where?  Is your team a buyer or a seller?  Do you think your team should make any moves at all?  When all is said and done, who's going to wind up with the best deal?  So far, the Lightning and Jackets have been the biggest sellers.  The Sabres may be trying to add all of a sudden, but at what price?  We've got a lot of potential trades waiting in the wings.  I'm personally wondering what Ray Shero has up his sleeve this time for the Pens, if he has anything in mind at all.

There are a lot of players rumored to be on the trading block that are still with their respective clubs.  Those include Dustin Brown of the Kings and Rick Nash of the Blue Jackets.  What about Alex Semin?  Do the Caps try to shop him?  Will the Preds hold on to Ryan Suter?  Those questions will all be answered by Monday afternoon.  Here's a look at the trades that have happened so far, starting with about a month ago now when the Habs traded Mike Cammilleri to the Flames in exchange for Rene Bourque.  That set the stage for other deals to be done, a lot of which have occurred in the last 10 days...

-F Dominic Moore, 7th round 2012 pick to San Jose Sharks <---> 2nd round 2012 pick to Tampa Bay Lightning

-D Hal Gill, conditional 5th round 2013 pick to Nashville Predators

-D Pavel Kubina to Philadelphia Flyers <---> F Jon Kalinski, 2nd round 2012 OR 2013 pick, 4th round 2013 pick to Tampa Bay Lightning

-F Steve Downie to Colorado Avalanche <---> D Kyle Quincey to Detroit Red Wings <---> D Sebastien Piche, 1st round 2012 pick to Tampa Bay Lightning

-F Matt Fornataro to Chicago Blackhawks <---> F Brandon Segal to Tampa Bay Lightning

-F Antoine Vermette to Phoenix Coyotes <---> G Curtis McElhinney, 2nd round 2012 pick, 5th round 2013 pick to Columbus Blue Jackets

-F Jeff Carter to Los Angeles Kings
<---> D Jack Johnson, 1st round 2012 OR 2013 pick to Columbus Blue Jackets

-F Jerred Smithson to Florida Panthers <---> 6th round 2012 pick to Nashville Predators

-F Marek Zidlicky to New Jersey Devils <---> D Kurtis Foster, F Nick Palmieri, F Stephane Veilleux, 2nd round 2012 pick, 3rd round conditional 2013 pick to Minnesota Wild

-F Wojtek Wolski to Florida Panthers <---> D Mike Vernace, 3rd round 2013 pick to New York Rangers

-G Ben Bishop to Ottawa Senators <---> 2nd round 2013 pick to St. Louis Blues

We'll keep you updated here until the clock strikes midnight...okay, 3:00 PM on the east coast.  If you see a trade that involves YOUR team, tell us in the comments below because we don't want to miss any of the deals!

All and all, a pretty quiet trade deadline...

I'm pretty happy it was quiet for the most part - once I started hearing names like "Bobby Ryan" and "Teemu Selanne" thrown around, I was a bit nervous.

The Rangers received 6'8" defenseman John Scott from the Blackhawks for a 5th round pick TBD.

Chicago got Johnny Oduya from Winnipeg for a 2nd and 3rd round 2013 pick.

LMAO @ these trade too.

Buffalo trades Zack Kassian and Marc Andre Gragnani to Vancouver for Cody  Hodgson and Alex Sulzer.

And while I'm at it, the Red Wings sent defenseman Mike Commodore to the Lightning in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick.

Brian Rolston was also sent back to Boston from the Islanders along with defenseman Mike Mottau in exchange for defenseman Marc Cantin and forward Yannick Riendeau.

Sharks acquire T.J. Galiardi and Daniel Winnik (both wingers) from the Avalanche for Jamie McGinne, Mike Connolly, Michael Sgarbossa and a 2013 seventh-round pick.

Dumb and more dumb on Nashville's part in these trade. Paul Gaustad traded to Nashville for a 1st and 4th round pick.

The Rangers apparently made a mammoth offer for Rick Nash today and they declined.

Oh, and it sure looks like Rick Nash will be staying put in Columbus.

The Canadiens and Predators made the first significant deal, with Montreal sending Andrei Kostitsyn to Nashville for a 2013 second-round draft pick and the return of a conditional pick Montreal had sent Nashville in a deal for Hal Gill earlier this month.

Andrei joins his brother Sergei on the Predators.
