There are only 5 games this evening, but they should all be good, well, at least 4 of them. Kicking off the night are the Bruins who travel to the Joe for a battle with the Red Wings. Both these teams haven't been as dominant as last year. Boston has started off 6-6-1 and the Wings are 5-4-3. The first 7:30 game is the stinker, the Lightning travel north of the border to play the lowly Maple Leafs. Tampa Bay is 4-4-4, and the Leafs are a pathetic 1-7-4, the worst record in the NHL. The other 7:30 game is also up in Eastern Canada, as the Habs play host to the Thrashers. Atlanta started off red hot, but cooled off, while Montreal has been hit or miss and sit at a perfect .500 record, 7-7. Then it's time to head out west, as both the Pens and Rangers begin a west coast swing that will last until Saturday. The Pens will be in California for these 3 games, and they start this trip by putting their league-leading 22 points on the line against the struggling Ducks, who come into this game at 4-6-2 against the 11-3 Pens. Good news for the Pens is that Tyler Kennedy is expected to be back tonight. The other Atlantic team out west this week is the Rangers, and they're up in Canada. They'll start this 3-game road trip with a visit to Vancouver for a duel with the Canucks. The Rangers are 9-5-1 while the Canucks are 8-7. Both teams are missing big names though, with Gaborik out for the Rangers and goaltender Luongo out for the 'Nucks. It may only be 5 games, but there won't be a lack of action on the ice tonight.
