I'll be the first to admit I'm not a fan of either the Washington Capitals or the Pittsburgh Penguins, but I have friends who are huge fans of both. Besides, let's face it, with the NHL number one scorer in the lineup, plus Ovi and Sid the Kid, what's not to like? Unfortunately, Evgeni Malkin isn't performing in the playoffs the way he was in the regular season and the result is the Penguins are down, 2-0. Monday night's game was a reporter's dream with both Ovechkin and Crosby scoring hat tricks. Tonight, the Pens will be playing with a bit of "desperation". Coming back from a 2-0 deficit is something they have done before, but that doesn't mean it's fun. They do have the home ice advantage and need to utilize it to their advantage. It isn't going to be an easy game for the Caps either, but if Varlamov continues to play the way he has so far, that is one less thing they will have to worry about. Tonight's game will be one to watch.
Boston is visiting the Hurricanes tonight. This series is tied with one win each and Carolina's win over the Bruins in game two was enough of a surprise that Boston will have to be on their toes.
As always, pickems are there to earn points, and the game pages, too, for talking smack. Feel free to chat it up here and enjoy the games.
