Red Wings End Series With 3-0 Win.

Detroit controlled the shots again by a wide-margin, and eventually you'd figure that would be the demise of Nashville.  Dan Ellis played another great game in net (minus one mistake), saving 40 of 42. But his Predators were unable to score on 20 shots against Chris Osgood.  Nicklas Lidstrom scored the first goal shorthanded on a random shot from center ice that got by Ellis in the second period.  Jiri Hudler scored in the 3rd period to make it 2-0, and Brian Rafalski scored an empty netter to give the Wings a 3-0 win.  That gives Detroit a 4-2 series victory, and they'll play against the Flames (if they win their series) or the Avalanche.

Flames Force Game 7 After 2-0 Victory Over Sharks.

Calgary played a very physical game en route to their victory.  Shots were close, but hits weren't, as Calgary had 32 to the Sharks 14.  Not to mention, Calgary dominated the faceoffs.  Owen Nolan scored halfway through the first to give Calgary a 1-0 lead.  Daymond Langkow scored late in the second to give them a 2-0 lead which they wouldn't surrender.  Miikka Kiprusoff made 21 saves for a shutout.  This victory will lead to a game 7 between the two seed Sharks and the seven seed Flames.  Game 7 will be on Tuesday at 10 PM.

Defending Champion Ducks Get Eliminated.

The Ducks are done after six games thanks to the Dallas Stars.  The Stars had 26 shots to the Ducks 18 shots.  There was no score until the second, when Corey Perry scored for the Ducks.  They led 1-0 after the second, but the Stars would score four goals in the third period to take the win.  Stephane Robidas scored a powerplay goal early in the third, with Stu Barnes scoring a minute later.  Loui Eriksson would score late in the period, and Mike Modano ended it on a powerplay.  So the series is over, and Dallas will play either San Jose or Colorado.
