I'm not terribly superstitious, but in desperate situations I can get a little stitious. For instance, I once resorted to chewing on the same toothpicks as Dusty Baker which sparked a 9-game winning streak. It ended when I needed to give a presentation for work during a day game and sacrificed a Cubs win for keeping my job. It wasn't an easy decision. So maybe I am superstitious.Anyways, I really shouldn't be surprised with today's third straight loss to the lowly Marlins. Any team that resorts to Steve Trachsel in moments like this is asking to lose. Not even Bill Murray in attendance so save the Cubs from themselves and a 6-4 loss.
Fortunately, the Brewers are managed by Ned Yost who might be the ultimate curse buster. Milwaukee's 9-5 loss to San Diego brings the NL Central magic number down to just 2 with 3 games to play.
You know what's going to happen, right? They're both going to lose out.
