Meanwhile, Djokovic will have plenty of time to prepare for the tournament which begins next month. The Serb would surely look forward to his meeting with Nadal in the tournament.
Monte-Carlo was Nadal’s 20th Masters’ victory. This takes Nadal one ahead of the Swiss maestro Roger Federer. This also happened to Nadal’s first win since Roland Garros last year. Djokovic has come in between Nadal and title attempts a number of times since last year. It looks as if fate wants to spark rivalry between the two players.
Nadal is confident about his form before the French Open, therefore he will take a break to rest his sore knees. Nadal didn’t drop a single set throughout the tournament at Monte Carlo. He was in control in the final too, where he broke twice in the first set before grabbing a 4-0 in the second.
Djokovic came back into the game with a break serve, but Nadal’s aggressive game play stunned the Serb. Nadal, who has managed to win the Monte Carlo Masters since 2005, clearly felt at home on his preferred clay court against Djokovic.
