I am a PBN (Press Box Nobody) for the Washington Nationals. My job isn't really important beyond the fact that I have somehow tricked a Major League Baseball team to pay me to watch the action. Maybe someday I'll go into the details for but for this story they are inconsequential.
Anyway, for the Nats/Mets game last night we nearly had something that I am certain would have ended with 40 days of rain or something happening to all the first born sons out there.
Starting in left for the Mets last night was Angel Pagan. Now, I am certain that he prefers that his last name be pronounced PagOn but he will al ways be Angle PagAn to me. It is just such a cool name, just go with it.
Coming in to pitch the 9th for the Nats was Jesus Colome. I was so excited at this though. All I need was for the Mets to do just enough to get the 6th place hitter up and I would have had my dream match-up.
Jesus and an Angel -OR- Jesus vs. Pagan
Alas, Carlos Delgado let me down and I came a batter short of realizing a dream. Luckily the baseball season is long and there will be more opportunities for this match-up to occur.
Good God I am simple...
