Today's game in Boulder summed up the Bill Callahan era in Nebraska. 65 points allowed, littering the field with many poor decisions and penalties.

That early third-quarter stretch was classic. Back to back penalties -- illegal substitution and then a delay of game. Next play a perfect Joe Ganz pass ... to Colorado's Jimmy Smith for a pick six. I'm not even a Nebraska fan, in fact, I can't remember the last time I've ever rooted for Big Red. 0-12 would usually please me greatly, but the tenure has just been wrong. Time for the Huskers to get a real coach.

Now the inevitable process begins. Tom Osborne will likely fire Bill Callahan in the next two days. Who should be the next coach?

Colorado 65, Nebraska 51

0	Throw out a name from way out in left field... Paul Johnson. He's obviously a good coach, and who knows with coaches these days, maybe Turner Gill and/or Pellini decide they don't want the job. It wouldn't surprise me if Pellini turned down the Nebraska job in hope of getting the LSU job.

Isn't Pellini still pissed at Nebraska for not giving him the job back when he was interim?

Yes, but I read a few weeks ago, that if Nebraska were to offer Pellini the job, he would jump at it, even over the LSU HC job. However, it was based on talk around Lincoln, so it may have just been puffery to make the job seem better. The rumor was that he fell in love with the town of Lincoln and the Nebraska program when he was there.

I think he and his family actually liked Lincoln and would love to return. We'll just have to see how things play out.

0	Pellini is my first choice. But i like what someone said around here, and that is throw the Money at Bill Cowher. I don't think he'll move from Raleigh, but I think he would fit well.
