Adidas just rolled out these uniforms for the NCAA tournament and so far, the response has been less than stellar.
The shorts are reminiscent of Zubaz, the terrible trend that was all over the place in the early '90s.
Some of the biggest complaints from people are about the fact that Kansas, Notre Dame and UCLA are being outfitted with these atrocities. These are some schools programs with some incredibly history, and now they're wearing neon Zubaz uniforms.
Are these as ugly as the short sleeve uniforms that were recently released for the Warriors? I think the Notre Dame uniforms are worse, and the whole thing just seems sacrilegious. But I'm not sure if the ugly factor is stronger than the Warriors' unis.
Keep in mind... this is not the first time Adidas has come out with some hideous college uniforms. The Notre Dame uniforms for their game against Miami were horrid, and their recent Michigan basketball jerseys looked pretty awful as well.
Perhaps it's time to stop trying to reinvent the wheel, and go with some traditional, classic uniforms.
The problem is, that doesn't bring in enough revenue. So Adidas and these schools want another alternate uniform to put in stores, so they can make a few extra bucks.
Further proof that the love of money really IS the root of all evil.
