There were rumors that Tom Brady wouldn't even play for the first few games of the 2008 season. Those turned out to be false, but now Patriots fans might be wishing they were true.Brady was removed from the game in the 1st quarter, after Chiefs safety Brandon Pollard hit his knee awkwardly.
It didn't look too bad, and Brady was at least able to hobble off the field with a little help, but this definitely isn't good news for Patriots fans.
Brady was 7-11 for 76 yards before the injury, and his streak of 127 straight starts is 3rd among all active players behind only Brett Favre and Peyton Manning.
It's possible that this is just a precaution, because the Patriots may feel that the Chiefs are a team they can beat with Matt Cassel under center, but we will learn more soon.
