August 22, 2011; East Rutherford, NJ, USA; New York Giants player Terrell Thomas (right) tackles Chicago Bears player Matt Spaeth (left) in the first half at New Meadowlands Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Tim Farrell/THE STAR-LEDGER via US PRESSWIRELast year the New York Giants were able to withstand a giant blow to their secondary when Terrell Thomas went down with a torn right ACL. They may have to do the same thing this year. Thomas, who has already injured his right ACL twice, slipped during practice Sunday. An MRI today revealed that Thomas has re-injured his right ACL, the extent of the damage yet to be known.

Thomas will have a scope on his right knee to determine the extent of his injury. A third tear would be a back breaker for his career, as a return from yet another tear appears unlikely. In the meantime Prince Amukamara will assume the starting position opposite Corey Webster. Rookie Jayron Hosley and veterans Antwan Molden and Bruce Johnson will fight for the nickel corner position.
