You don't need to check the latest NFL power rankings to know that the 2013 New York Giants are awful. The only thing left to debate regarding Big Blue and such lists is if anybody went as far as to suggest that the Giants are the worst team in the NFL. Yes, the Jacksonville Jaguars are also a lousy team, but they have at least put up fights in a couple of games. Watching New York crumble against an average (at best) Philadelphia Eagles side was what did it for me. I have no problem putting the Giants dead last in Week 6 NFL power rankings.

ESPN's NFL writers once again dropped the Giants in their NFL power rankings. New York comes in at 31 this week. That piece points out a rather unfortunate stat about quarterback Eli Manning. I've been quick to defend Manning this season, but nobody can deny that he wasn't good enough against Philly. Not even close.

NFL senior columnist Pete Prisco decided to keep the Giants in the No. 30 spot in his power rankings. He asks a question that the team may soon have to answer: “Is it time to start wondering if Jerry Reese is on the hot seat?” Yes, Reese built two Super Bowl winning teams, but those Giants are long gone. His current squad is an absolute mess.

Frank Schwab didn't go all-in on dropping the Giants, but he did slide them down to 31. He has the winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers and winless Pittsburgh Steelers ahead of New York. Either of those teams would beat the Giants right now.

Former head coach and current NFL analyst Brian Billick has New York ahead of only the Jags and the Bucs in his list. Billick mentioned that the Giants have already committed 20 turnovers this season. That comes to one giveaway per quarter. Unbelievable.

Mike Florio didn't bury Big Blue despite putting the team at 31st. “It’s still too early to completely write off the Giants,” he stated. Needless to say, I don't agree with Mr. Florio. The NFC East is mediocre, but I see no reason to believe New York is turning things around anytime soon.
Where the New York Giants are in Week 6 NFL power rankings: NY Daily News
It's another week at 30 for the Giants in the NYDN NFL power rankings. Not a single list has New York above that spot this time around. That's deserved considering how poorly the Giants have played.
The Giants, in theory, have a decent shot of picking up their first win of the campaign this week. Thursday night games are often wonky and ugly contests, and the Chicago Bears are limping into that match-up after back to back losses. Granted, those defeats did come against the Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints.
These Giants are a different kind of bad at the moment, a team that has seemingly forgotten how to execute on the field. That is why I can't envision New York escaping the basement of NFL power rankings anytime soon. This could be the worst that the Giants have been in two decades.
