Newcastle United under-threat of losing Hatem Ben Arfa to Chelsea
Chelsea are set to renew their interest in Newcastle United midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa. Insiders recently revealed Chelsea are ready to sit at the table with Newcastle United to negotiate a transfer deal for Hatem Ben Arfa this summer.
Reportedly, Chelsea are willing to shell out as much £12 million the young France international. Hatem Ben Arfa has been in exceptional form over the past two seasons in spite of Newcastle United’s poor form.
Many football pundits suggest Hatem Ben Arfa is set for a big money move in the upcoming years. Interestingly, Chelsea is not the only club eyeing Hatem Ben Arfa. Reportedly, Manchester City, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain are closely monitoring Hatem Ben Arfa.
Increasing interest in Hatem Ben Arfa could spark a transfer war this summer. Chelsea are currently leading the race for his signature, but all of that can change very quickly. The million-dollar question here is why Chelsea feels the need to add another attacking midfielder to their star-struck squad.
With young players like Juan Mata, Eden Hazard, Ramires, Oscar, Fernando Torres, Lucas Piazon, Marko Marin and Victor Moses in the Chelsea squad, there should be no need of adding reinforcements. Unless, one of the first string players has decided to leave the club.
Interestingly, Eden Hazard has been linked to Real Madrid as of late. Reportedly, Eden Hazard never saw Stamford Bridge as a home in the long run. Moreover, Hatem Ben Arfa can be a good replacement for the Eden Hazard.
Chelsea’s interest in Hatem Ben Arfa can spell disaster for Newcastle United as they are already under-threat of losing players such as Demba Ba and Cheick Tiote also likely to be targeted.
Rising in Italy can see Cheick Tiote make a move abroad. A couple of other Premier League clubs are also interested in signing in Cheick Tiote.
On the other hand it appears as if Demba Ba already has one foot out of door. The 27-year-old Senegal international has been linked to a number of Premier League clubs. Demba Ba’s £7 million release clause means sooner or later another club will swoop in for him.
