Newcastle United fans mocked Andy Carroll when he returned to St. James Park under a red jersey whilst playing for Liverpool, but they aren’t mocking him now. The England international is being linked with a load return to his former club Newcastle United. This just shows that in spite of all the criticism Andy Carroll has increased form and maturity.

Andy Carroll, who came to Anfield from Newcastle United in January 2011 through a transfer move that set the British transfer fee record, has become one of the most sought after players this summer after Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers placed him in the football market.

Newcastle United is just one of the many clubs inquiring about Andy Carroll. AC Milan, Juventus, West Ham United and Aston Villa are other clubs that are willing sign in the hulk-of-a-striker.

Andy Carroll recorded phenomenal form while scoring 31 goals in his tenure with Newcastle United. In spite of the bad blood between Toons and Andy Carroll, the Englishman still has great respect for Newcastle United and would be willing to play for them if he is promised first team opportunities.

When the Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew was asked to comment on Andy Carroll’s future and the possibility of his return to the Magpies he sealed his lips. Alan Pardew said that he would not like to comment on Andy Carroll’s future but he is still regarded as a “top player”.

“He did a terrific job here,” Alan Pardew said in a news conference on Wednesday. “I've always supported him even at Liverpool when other people haven't. I think he's had a raw deal from the media if I'm honest.

“He's going to be a great player, but where he treads the boards, we'll have to wait and see.”

The Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers sees Andy Carroll as a forward who needs more time to mature. According to reports, Liverpool is also in talks with AC Milan over their inquiry about acquiring Andy Carroll on a loan spell.

The 23-year-old could prove to be a good signing for AC Milan as Andy Carroll could prove to be a good replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
