Barcelona’s summer signing Neymar has been filling in for Lionel Messi till at least the end of the year. The young Brazilian wonder kid is having a remarkable time with the ball, still Neymar hopes his teammate Messi can make a quick recovery and join the first-team ranks quickly.

Messi has been rule out till January due to a thigh injury following the La Liga game against Real Betis on November 10. The injury arrives soon after Messi and Neymar were starting to build a partnership in Barcelona’s attack.

The Barcelona bred player, Messi, will arrive at Buenos Aires on Friday to continue with his rehabilitation program. Barcelona have allowed Messi to rest where he wants and opt for the rehabilitation plan he sees best.

The La Liga champions issued an expected recovery schedule for the four-time Ballon d’Or winner on Thursday, hoping that fears about his prolonged injury were only false reports.

Neymar spoke highly of Messi in an interview to Mundo Leo from DXTV, a television network in Argentina. Neymar also talked about Messi’s injury and hoped that he makes a quick recovery.

“The team is sad because Leo is one of the basic parts of this team. We know that he can change a game in our favor at any moment,” Neymar said. “I hope he recovers and starts playing again as soon as possible.”

The 21-year-old Brazil international also relieved some pressure from Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino by suggesting he was doing a good job with the club. Martino is under stress for being unable to keep Barcelona at its best after taking over the reins from Tito Vilanova during the summers.

Under Martino, Barcelona has changed its game play from the traditional tiki-taka to a more versatile attacking display. Nonetheless, all Barcelona players, including Neymar, are satisfied with Barcelona’s tactics.

“He’s a great coach and a wonderful person,” Neymar said. “He asks of me the same that he asks of every other player. How to mark and how to move around. He gives us total freedom.”

Neymar further added that arriving at Barcelona has made him realize that playing under the La Blaugrana colors has always been his dream.

“I have always admired FC Barcelona, ever since the days of Ronaldinho, and even more so now that I am playing alongside Messi, Xavi and Iniesta,” Neymar added. “I had always dreamed of playing with such stars as them, to train with them, to share a dressing room with them … Being there is like being in another world.”
