Nightly Q: How Mad Will CriticalFanatic Get If The Spartans Lose This Game?
READ MORE:
Not much going on tonight sports wise. But we do have #9 Michigan State at #23 Purdue, so you know CF is pumped up about that. Me, not so much, because I think Big-10 basketball sucks.

As for me, I'm pumped about, uh, nothing on here all that much. But I will take a look at the UNC game. And maybe check to see if Billy Gillispie has been fired by halftime of the Kentucky game.

Also be sure to check out some of that hard-hitting NHL action. If you get Versus, of course.

College men's basketball:  Michigan State at Purdue (ESPN, 7 p.m.); North Carolina at Virginia (ESPN2, 8 p.m.); Kentucky at Vanderbilt (ESPN, 9 p.m.)

NHL: Philadelphia at N.Y. Islanders (Versus, 7 p.m.); Anaheim at Colorado (Versus, 9:30 p.m.)

If MSU loses someone might be taking a trip to IKEA to replace that end table, but that should not happen.

I only worry if Purdue's Gene Keady's hair get loose and attack the MSU bus.

Well that was an awesome half of basketball. *%()$!

It appears the Spartans who scored 34 against Iowa shown. Truth is, Purdue is really good and underrated. State is overrated.

It's tough to disagree with that.

I've said all year that this Purdue team would be good because I like their personnel and coach, but they have far, far exceeded my expectations on this season.  I haven't watched much of the game tonight, but I heard the other day on TV that Purdue was something between 8th and 10th in the Big Ten in a few major statistical categories, but still leads the conference standings.  Pretty incredible.

You know what they lead the conference in? Hustle.

That's a category Michigan State does really well in, but got outclassed in the first half. Fortunately, they've stepped it up here in the second.

Well that sucked. Can't say I'm too surprised. Purdue's a better basketball team, and worthy of Top 15 status.

If there weren't preseason magazines, polls, and lazy voters they already would be. Count me a member of the Robbie Hummel fan club.

That last shot that Hummel made was unbelievable.

Why am I not worried that Virginia is keeping this close with momentum on their side? Hansbrough has been shut down completely this second half, a turnover pretty much every other possession, yet I expect Virginia to collapse.

Except for Singletary, Virginia's team is absolute garbage.  I suppose that's why they are in last place in the ACC, but their terribleness can't be overstated.  Just a brutal team that standings, rankings, and statistics don't do justice.

That's why you shouldn't be worried.

North Carolina is barely average without Lawson. The injury to Frasor doesn't help either.

Holy crap, Kentucky is down by thirty!?! Only eleven points in the first half?

Kentucky is getting beat down like Hilary Clinton is getting beat down tonight.

Over 60% in every state!  Hopefully this builds up some more momentum in Texas and Ohio.

She has to win around 56% of the remaining delegates to be able to beat him. Looks like it is a Obama vs McCain for the Oval Office.

I don't know about you or anyone else but I am sick of Hilary "pimping" her kid and husband out there trying to get votes. It is like Obama is running against and beating two presidential candidates.

I've been sick of it, but I have pretty strong feelings against the Clintons as a whole so my opinion on that matter probably doesn't mean much.

I might be blinded by my bias and optimism, but if Obama does pull off the nomination I can't see any way he loses the election.  McCain's only chance in my opinion is against Hilary.

You know what is scary though, think about this. The Super Delegates could give Hilary the "lead" in the nomination even though Obama won many more pledged delegates. That would be really bad and not only because Clinton could win but it would probably cause an uproar across America since it would basically make all of our votes moot.

That is a scary thought.  Honestly, if that happens I will be so utterly disappointed.  Really, we'd all be betrayed.  The thing that excites me most about voting for Obama next week and potentially November is that I actually believe in him.  If the Super Delegates betray us like that I'd be forced to vote for McCain, someone who I really don't believe in.  I like that the Democrats do their nomination process proportionally, not winner take all like the Republicans, but I really do not like the idea of super Delegates.  It defeats the purpose of ever having us vote in the first place.

Injuryrate almost called the Billy Gillispie getting fired at half time tonight. 11 points! Rick Majerus thinks Kentucky can't shoot.
