Nobody's Fool

4/1/14 in NBA

It would have been great if Fresno wouldn't have melted under the pressure of the Siena press in the 2nd half and blown a 12-point lead last night, but I really can't complain.  It was still a winning night.  String enough winning nights together, and we have a winning week.  Pile up enough winning weeks, and we get a winning month.  That's the goal, so we proceed.

THE NBA  (5-5 ATS/7-3 SU/6-4 TOTALS last night and 13-5/12-6/10-8 so far for the week)

BUTTA  (2-0 last night and 2-1 so far for the week)
Warriors/MAVS (O204) - I can't believe that the Warriors will have another terrible offensive night like they did on Sunday, especially against a rather porous Mavs defense.  Dallas has been known to fill it up too, and when you see my projection for the game, it's easy to understand why this TOTAL looks so vulnerable to the OVER to me, and why it's a play.

ALL THE REST
Rockets 100 Warriors (+4 1/2, O204) 112
NETS (-3, O209 1/2) 114 MAVS 113

Blazers 101
LAKERS (+6, U222) 106

NBA NOTE:
---The Lakers deserve a bit of a shout out at this point.  It's a team that's been short on talent this season, but they're long on heart.  They're still playing hard in spite of the fact that this season passed them by a long time ago.

COLLEGE HOOPS  (0-1 ATS & SU/1-0 TOTALS last night and 0-3 ATS & SU/1-2 TOTALS so far for the week)
The NIT and the CIT resume play with semifinal games In both tourneys.  The NIT is now a neutral site situation with all remaining games to be played in New York, while the CIT remains a home court situation, and that has a lot to do with tonight's play.

BUTTA  (0-1 last night and 0-2 so far for the week)
MURRAY ST. (-240) over Pacific - The Racers can fill it up, and they play a style that doesn't suit Pacific well.  I'd like to lay the (-5 1/2) hung on Murray here, but from what we've seen from officials all through this postseason, regardless of tournament, it seems like the goal is to keep games close.  And yes, that is a big shot at the officials and the NCAA, but maybe I'll get more into that in another post.

ALL THE REST
NIT
Clemson (+3 1/2, U118 1/2)                57 Minnesota 52
Smu 52 Florida St. (-1 1/2, U136 1/2) 63
CIT
Yale (+2, U163) 82 Pacific 52
VMI 80 MURRAY ST. (-5 1/2, U150 1/2)       77

COLLEGE NOTE:
---The way Florida St. has been going in this postseason, I really think the posted TOTAL for their game tonight is vulnerable to the OVER.  My projection severely disagrees though, so I can't make the jump.

Life really is good right about now.  A winning night last night, a full day of baseball yesterday and the monthly turning of the Hooter's calendar today.  It just doesn't get much better.  Have a great Tuesday.  I'll talk to you tomorrow.
