There may not be a more definitive quote regarding the current (perceived) state of Michigan football than this quote from Pete Adrian, head coach of D-IAA Norfolk State:

"After watching Rutgers on film and watching Michigan play [Oregon], I think I'd rather be playing Michigan," said Adrian, whose Football Championship Subdivision (formerly Division I-AA) team will be the Knights' homecoming opponent Saturday.

0	Yea, Norfolk St. is no Appalachian St. Plus, I personally believe that Michigan would beat Rutgers (and their awful fans) if they played this Saturday.

1	Well... at this current time I'd have to agree with the Norfolk St coach. He shouldn't be talking because his team couldn't beat Rutgers or Michigan, but he's right.

This may be do to my Big Ten/State of Michigan roots ... but I'm still having a hard time believing the Wolverines won't right the ship. Far too talented. But we'll see. Because of the offense Rutgers plays, I like Michigan in that matchup.

I'd have to agree with that too. As you pointed out before... how many 4 year starting QB's aren't a captain? Thats just weird and makes you wonder whats going on in that locker room. I think we both agree that its a disaster there in Ann Arbor.

0	Do you guys think if Mallet goes out there and has a tremendous game against Notre Dame, the Michigan faithful, will want him starting even when Henne gets back from his knee problem?

0	I'm guessing Mike Hart will be getting quite the workout this weekend, so I doubt Mallet has too spectacular of game.

Judging from my friends who were in attendance the last two weeks ... the fanbase, well the loud portion of the fan base, cheered when Henne was injured. Fans are impatient, and always want to see what's greener on the other side. Mallet has a massive arm, but he's just a freshman. Jimmy Clausen has the advantage of a start on the road under his belt.

Playing in Ann Arbor compared to Happy Valley is a piece of cake. Quietest 110,000 you'll ever be around.

With Mallet now starting, and I think he'll be a gem down the road, I'm struggling to stick with my pick of Michigan. For me it comes down to the running game, and I've got to believe Michigan will outrush ND. In the midwest, that wins football games.

What makes the Rutgers fans awful? Personally, I'm a Rutgers alumn from the mid 80's when the football teams were forgettable. Just curious what experiences you have had with awful RU fans?
