After the Wildcats got off to a slow start against Boston College at a 2:30 pm CT kickoff time, Fitzgerald went to his team's leadership council, and asked what they think the team should do to be more prepared to play this week. He definitely got a different answer than what he was expecting.
"They looked at me, and they're like, 'Well, Coach, it's nap time,' " Fitzgerald said with a smile. "I'm like, 'What?' They go, 'It's what time we take a nap.' I said, 'OK, fine.'
"I can show you a copy of our itinerary. ... We're going to get them up earlier on Saturday. We have a full team breakfast. Then on there, we have it in big and bold, it says, 'TEAM NAP.' And underneath it, it says, 'Mandatory.' "
Fitzgerald agreed to the plan, but he still jokes about it due to the unexpectedness of it.
"It's unbelievable. Seriously? This is what I get paid to do? You know what I mean? Great, nap time. Seriously? It's pathetic."
Junior quarterback Kain Colter, who has had a very high impact
"Those hotel beds are really comfortable," Colter said. "Those pillows are soft. It won't be a problem for me. ... We'll come down fresh and get ready to kick some butt."
The Wildcats are looking to notch another win against Nebraska, as they beat the Huskers last year in Lincoln 28-25 and also bring their record up to 8-1 with a chance to be ranked in the BCS rankings, while the Huskers look to redeem themselves after a bye week and a devastating loss to Ohio State 63-38 on Oct. 6th.
