The beautiful Miss Ana Ivanovic needed three-plus hours to dispose of the fiesty Nathalie Dechy of France 6-7, 7-6, 10-8. You have to love the no final set tie-breaker rule at the All England Club.
While I have no problem watching Ana play televised tennis for that long, it's not exactly the start to the Wimbledon Championships she was hoping for.
Ivanovic was nearly the largest casuality of the grass grand slam thus far, but that honor will remain with Novak Djokovic who was blitzed by Marat Safin, who's no slouch with his two slam titles, 6-4, 7-6, 6-2. Djokovic figured to meet Roger Federer in the semifinals and potentially be the first player in six years to send Pong home without a shiny trophy.
