So says Mendoza Jones, at least. Before we get into some Midseason Awards, I wanted to readdress this comment from Andruw Jones that I pointed out earlier in blogging the bases.
"I hope they get something done," center fielder Andruw Jones said Sunday. "It most definitely would help us. To get another starter would give us a better chance to compete against the other top teams in our division."The Atlanta Braves probably should trade for some media tact before they do anything. Sure the Braves could use starting pitching, but when you've spent the majority of the year below the Mendoza Line, you probably shouldn't speak out about pitching being the answer. I know Jones is probably feeling quite proud of himself, now that he's got his average up to a blistering .211, but his foot should still meet his mouth.
What would help the Braves most? Jones picking up his average by .50 points.
