About Me:
I love the cubs and various other teams and enjoy a wide variety of sports.. I will probably not win too many popularity contests and that is a shame for me.. but I will come and participate and vote and comment and try to gain faniq points when they come up. lol.. I love sports and I think many on here do too.. I look forward to the discussions and hopefully we all learn and laugh along the way. :) feel free to come talk to me if you want-- my shoutout section and/or mailbox on here are always open as far as I know. :)
Observations on the weekend

Let's get the NFL stuff out of the way first..

-the Indy WR let Peyton manning down with the 2 tips that turned into INTs.   and Harrison being unable to get back out there likely cost them dearly too.   Peyton is still one of the best QB I have ever seen.

-congrats to Billy Volek on picking a great moment to reintroduce us to himself.

-Dallas's O-line picked a hell of a bad time to collapse on the team..   Giants were a wounded animal and if the O-line had held up like it did for the first 3 quarters, the crippled secondary of the Giants would likely have lead to Dallas advancing.

-that said, got to give credit for the Giants taking advantage and making Dallas pay for the sudden weakness...   the pass rushers kicked it up a notch and forced Romo into some bad spots..   it took both the extra effort/heart of the Giants D and the way Dallas played to lead to this upset.

-Eli didn't lose it for them, but I give even more credit to the special teams of the giants who stepped up when they were needed.

-That said, I think the Giants are longshots next weekend in GB.. especially if the secondary isn't back to full-strength..      On the toher hand, we go ahead and play the games for a reason. :)

Ok, on to other sports..

-My alma mater, Illinois State, has 2 basketball teams kicking butt right now... the men are 5-0 in conference and 13-3 overall..    if they can avoid a collapse, they are in line for a bid to the dance :)   ..    The women are 4-0 in conference and 14-1 overall with the only loss being by 5 points to nationally ranked Depaul.

-Read an article about Cedeno getting work at OF..  if he can, that would be a nice bonus and extra depth..   also makes me wonder if someone or several someone's think that Roberts really will end up a Cub..   both because that would crowd the middle infield position and also because it might require the Cubs to give up some OF somehow which means the extra depth of having Cedeno as an emergency option would be helpful..     or make him more valuable in terms of trade value..

but will just have to wait to see.  *shrug*

-and for my final thought..   thank you Fox for casting Summer Glau in the new terminator series.   it is nice to see a different type of beauty sometimes. :)
