Recently, I took a spin with a doctor, regarding what a person called an unhealthy habit.
I collect Raider items.
To that degree, it's grown, from cards, to models, to a popcorn machine, to even stamps.
In my defense, i'd say fairly, that I can vouch for my addiction, simply sprouts from the lack of access....being in South Dakota, the internet is my best contact to the silver and black.
Some believed, that it was a mental condition, brought about by my own derangment, my faith in a football team, deep-rooted.
But then, it can also be explained. Via the website, Raiderfans.net, I built a chart, to fill in what would be classified as a true fanatic.
Going 1-10, 1 being the basic, ground based fan, who might watch an occasional game. Season's done, he's done.
Level 10, is the dyed in the wool, severe addicted fan, with the paint, the hair, the collection, and even follows the team on the road. He spends the offseason, plotting the course of free agency, and even checks in, every week, or every day, for anything new, tidbit wise. Faithful.
According to friends, I'm an 8. I don't color my face, and due to budget reasons, I can't follow my team around the country.
But, word for word...I am a Raider fan. Devoted, strong, and will defend the faith.
