I'm not afraid to admit it anymore, I'm in love with Chris Paul's game. Full blown man crush.
For the second game in a row, the first two playoff games of his career, CP3 topped the 30 point / 10 assist mark. You know how many people have done that? Five. You might have heard of them - Oscar Robertson, Kevin Johnson, Jerry West, John Havlicek and some guy named Jordan.
If you're any fan of basketball, there's no reason for you not to feel the same.
Few players ever have the same ability to put the ball in exactly the right position for his post players to score. Many are alley-oops, but they're hardly cheap buckets. Many oops to Tyson Chandler occur at full speed in the fast break with numerous defenders around both of them.
Even fewer players, ever, have been able to combine that court vision with a knack for scoring and completely taking over a game. It's his ability to control the game that's so captivating.
Oh, you're going to double team me off of a pick & roll? Let me just cut right threw it. Interesting that you're dropping down on Chandler and West as I drive to the lane. Allow me to just drop in this floater. 1.8 seconds left ... no problem, I'll just hit another running buzzer beat to end the first quarter.
Chris Paul has been doing whatever he wants on the court for most of the season. I've decided what it must feel like to be him right now. You're playing NBA Live, you've set it on easy mode, boosted up the game speed and you just run around opponents in circles and then hit the alley-oop button.
Maybe I'm getting carried away, but I can honestly tell you I haven't enjoyed watching an NBA player this much since Jordan.
