Last night the Cal State Fullerton Titans could not pull off the upset, even though they tried, well at least Josh Akognon tried. Guys a little help would have been nice, but it was going to be tough no matter if they were raining shots. Cal State looked like the Lilliputians out there and at times it looked like big brother playing hoops with much smaller brother. You just see the Titans trying and jumping about, while the Badgers just standing there.
Akognon should have stayed home, he could have rolled down to the Honda Center and beat Mississippi Valley State by himself (31 -29). 29 points! UCLA can play D, but 29 points! My goodness that was beat down, I think even Ike Turner would have been uncomfortable about it.
Well, I should be looking to the future of Cal State Fullerton basketball, since this is young team and all locally recruited kids. Should be the start of new basketball powerhouse. . . oh that's right they are all Sr. and Jr.'s and none of them started at CSUF. Well since Cal State Fullerton is a commuter college it makes that so appropriate. As frustrating as it was to watch it was worth it and to be able to flash school pride outside of baseball season. Hey we don't have football, haven't had since 1992. So it is back to rooting for UCLA. A school I really wanted to go to, but since the bulb does not burn so bright it was going to happen.
Before I laid my head to rest I was able to find comfort and shake off the 1st round loss blues by catching the last 45 minutes of Tombstone, the end of the Lakers/Jazz game and viewing the end of rare Kings win. It does not take much with me.
