The Ohio State Marching Band, also known as "The Best Damn Band in the Land" (TBDBITL), is widely-known for its use of the song "Hang on Sloopy," the traditional "Dotting of the I," and a good ol' "Skull Session."
But now it's being recognized for something a little different.
During halftime of the Ohio State-Nebraska game last weekend, TBDBITL showcased a well-orchestrated tribute to the marquee video games from the 70's on. This includes Space Invaders, Pokemon and even Halo.
Thanks to what looks to be a video taken by a fan with a Razr flip phone, YouTube nation has viewed this unprecedented performance over 9 million times. And counting.
Even the ending, which featured the band members forming "Game Over" on the field, was fitting for that night. Ohio State won 63-38 after taking a 35-24 lead into the half.
