Ouch.

In Saturday's game of Ohio State and Eastern Michigan, Ohio State guard Evan Turner made a nice drive down the lane, but unfortunately overshot his target - unable to hold onto the rim, momentum ended up getting the best of him as Turner fell hard to the court right on his back.

Turner was sent to the Ohio State Medical Center for tests, and it was revealed that he suffered a transverse process fracture on the second and third lumbar vertebra of his spine. He will end up missing at least 8 weeks.

Turner entered the game averaging 20.6 points, 12.9 rebounds and 6.6 assists per game and had already recorded a pair of triple-doubles, and was thought of as one of the front-runners for National Player of the Year.

Wow, that is almost unbelievable! I wish him the very best. Thanks for update James

I can't believe how much he kept squirming around, or that they got him to his feet, even though he was obviously in pain and holding his leg, even though he hadn't  landed on it.  Hope there is no permanent damage

Terrible when a young man in his prime is hurt so badly...his back will never be the same.

Very unfortunate. I hope Turner is able to make a full recovery.

This injury will hurt the Buckeyes big time! Time for the other kids to step up and fill in for Turner. I sure hate to see them play against Michigan State without him.

Between Oden and Turner, it was a tough day all around for the Buckeyes.

This kid hit hard, he's lucky he didn't break his neck. I'm glad to hear he will be able to return he is a valuable player for Ohio state.
