Ohio State 3rd string QB Cardale Jones has the right idea. Why bother going through the pretense that college athletes, particularly in football and basketball, are actually "student-athletes," when the NCAA is nothing more than a minor league system for the NFL and NBA?
This tweet from Jones, who later deleted it (and his entire twitter account), sums up the attitude of a lot of collegiate athletes.
Jones went to Ohio State to play football. That much is clear. To him (and many others), classes are just a necessary evil.
While I'm definitely in favor of everyone getting their education, how much longer are we all going to pretend that star athletes are at school to legitimately get an education? Unfortunately, that's just not the case. Just ask Cardale Jones.
