Tennessee police pulled over a 65-year old woman and her husband for having an Ohio State Buckeye bumper sticker on their car.Yes, you read that correctly.
The police officers thought that the bumper sticker depicted a marijuana leaf, and was an indication that the couple possessed marijuana.
There are about a million reasons why this is ridiculous, but a few key reasons come to mind immediately.
For starters... shouldn't cops in an SEC state realize a symbol for a college football team when they see one? Not that EVERYONE is a fan, but still.
Second, the buckeye leaf has 5 leaflets, while marijuana leaves have 7.
Third... Is this really a reason to pull someone over? Even if the couple DID have marijuana with them in the car, would they advertise it with a bumper sticker?
Seems a bit absurd, no?
They recommended that the woman remove the bumper sticker from her car, but she won't be doing that anytime soon. She's a Buckeye fan for life, and says "this little old lady is no drug dealer."
