NBA Triple Threat: Your daily roundup of last night's action in the Association.Oklahoma City 88 Minnesota 85 Congratulations to Minnesota for giving the Oklahoma City Thunder their first win in franchise history. Kevin Durant led the way with 18 points while Jeff Green chipped in 13 points, and Nick Collison contributed his first double-double of the season. It was the Thunder's rookie point guard Russell Westbrook who stepped up the most though, with two huge steals late in the 3rd quarter to give the Thunder the momentum they needed for a 4th quarter surge. Al Jefferson did everything he could to prevent losing to the Thunder by getting a double-double with 24 points and 13 rebounds. The Thunder had 25 second-chance points to 11 for the Timberwolves. The Timberwolves drop to 1-2 on the young season.
Milwaukee 94 New York 86 Michael Redd left in the 3rd quarter with an apparent ankle injury, but the Bucks were able to hang on and shut down Mike D'Antoni's high flying Knicks to improve their record to 2-2. All five Milwaukee starters scored in double figures, led by Richard Jefferson and Ramon Sessions with 18 points apiece. Andrew Bogut even showed that he wasn't a complete waste of space by scoring 13 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, and even blocking 3 shots. Scott Skiles has brought his tough minded, defensive philosophy to Milwaukee and so far this season it has paid off by holding their last three opponents to 87, 91, and 86 points respectively. The Knicks have struggled on the offensive end since their 120 point explosion on opening night to the tune of back to back games of 87 and 86 points, and is the big part of the reason they are 1-2.
