
He selected OU over his other top choices: Oregon, Oklahoma State and Baylor.
Although Beyer plays tackle for his high school team, he possesses the size (6'6", 275 pounds), strength and versatility to play any position across the line.
He's an elite run blocker and has an incredible first step drive, but will need to continue improving as a pass protector. This should come easy for the big man, as he expects to see the field a lot more this fall—Beyer missed most of his junior season with back issues.
Two of Beyer's former teammates—quarterback Trevor Knight and tight end Connor Knight—were a part of the Sooners' recruiting class for 2012.
Beyer is the 12th commitment for Oklahoma's 2013 class. He held offers from Arizona State, Baylor, Houston, Kansas, Miami (Fla.) and Minnesota before giving his verbal.
