On The Road Again

10/17/13 in NFL   |   pigskinfan   |   65 respect

The taxi service will be in full effect today, and I've got to be out of here and on the road by noon, so this is going to be quick today.
THE NFL  (6-8 so far for the week)
BUTTA  (1-2 so far for the week)
Seahawks (-250) over CARDINALS - If I had to lay the spread on this game, I'd probably go with the Cards at (+6).  Arizona is a solid defensive team, and they're very good at home.  The problem with the Cardinals, and why I'll take a little taste with the Hawks to just win the game, is their offense.  Going against the Seattle defense is not a good matchup for the home team.  The Cardinals are not going to be able to run the ball against the Seahawks, and Carson Palmer, facing that pass rush and throwing into that Seattle secondary, is a very scary proposition.  Also, I won't play it, but the TOTAL (40 1/2) for this game looks low to me.  I think it goes OVER.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL  (1-0 so far for the week)
Miami-Fla. (-9 1/2) over N. CAROLINA - Let me start by saying that I think this Miami team is a lot different from what we've seen over the past several years.  However, the past is a big part of what we must use to try and forecast the future, and in the past this has been a bad spot for the 'Canes.  They are the better team, they are on the road and they are laying 2 scores.  That's been a recipe for disaster for this squad, and the primary reason I won't play this game.  As stated, though, Coach Golden just might have his team believing enough that they roll up a very disappointing Tar Heel squad.
And that's all she wrote!  Have a great day, and I'll see you again tomorrow.
