Finally the Mets had a good weekend… Thank God!! They manage to take a step in the right direction, but I am not too excited because they were supposed to win these games. They are the better team. That is what has been so frustrating about them over the past 150 games. They are a good team that plays too frequently like an average team. I like what I saw over the weekend, so I am going to forget about the past 2 weeks before that. However, they cannot get beat by the Braves. I don’t mean they can’t lose a game, I mean they have to put their foot on the Brave Throat. I don’t mind losing close games if we did all we could. I just don’t want to see them give games away. Yes it is May, but one game given away can be the difference at the end. (See last season’s standings and note #2 at the bottom)
Two quick notes:
1.) Yankee fans move on. Your team will be fine when you get your horses back. Don’t make excuses, just have hope.
2.) Only Willie can blow the good faith that came out of this weekend. In his biggest spot as a Met Manager this season, on one of our biggest stages. (National Game, Versus the Yanks, Major Situation) He blows it. He doesn’t throw it all on the table and fight for his team. Jerry Manual got tossed for arguing Delgado’s Homer. That’s like your older sister punching a bully on your behalf. Shameful!! He could have and should have held up the game for 30 minutes. Throwing a fit, arguing, kicking and screaming. Showing the Ump the mark on the Ball!! The easiest argument to win is when you are right!! Duh! His quote today that he isn’t “going to argue for the fans and get tossed” is ridiculous. Do it for Carlos, do it for 3 runs, do it to try and win a game that could have been stolen from you!!! (And that could be the difference between Mets/Phillies in standings) He needs to go. And go quietly. (Pun intended!!)
