Report: Philadelphia Eagles Want Chip Kelly
Philadelphia coach Andy Reid is reportedly interested in leaving – although it’s almost certain that he’d be fired anyway – and Kelly is going to be atop the list.
With a 45-7 record at Oregon, Kelly will be a wanted man in the NFL this offseason. He already was offered the Tampa Bay Buccaneers job last year before turning it down, but this could be time and place to finally move on up.
Oregon is currently being investigated for multiple violations by the NCAA, which looks like will be ongoing through 2013. With this looming, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Kelly deck out before having to clean up his own mess (like Pete Carroll).
The Eagles may not be the most attractive job out there right now, but it could be the best fit. Just think about what Kelly – an offensive genius that thrives with speed – could do with the likes of Michael Vick and LeSean McCoy.
That is, if Philly decides to keep Vick (who would probably be more alluring to Kelly than Nick Foles).
Another NFL suitor for Kelly could include the Carolina Panthers (Kelly + Newton = love at first sprint), but keep the Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys, and San Diego Chargers in mind.
