For those of you who have followed Guillen throughout his career, you know how absurd that is.
Ozzie Guillen, who has never had an ounce of tact in his life, and even went so far as to say that he admired brutal dictator Fidel Castro, is now calling one of the classiest rookies in recent memory "unprofessional."
Apparently, Guillen was dissatisfied with the amount of pine tar on Harper's bat, and made him switch it out with a different bat.
We're not sure if that's the only issue Guillen had, because he declined to comment on it after the game, other than simply calling him unprofessional.
Harper's response: "He battles for his team, and that's the type of manager Ozzie is. He's a great manager to play for. He's going to battle for you, no matter what. That's a manager you want to play for."
Call me crazy, but that doesn't sound like an unprofessional guy to me. You can make up your own mind, but this guy doesn't look like the one who should be judging who is and isn't professional:
Throughout his entire rookie year thus far, Harper has been a model of professionalism. He treats fellow players, fans, and the game with the utmost respect.
Guillen, on the other hand, is regularly seen cussing out umpires, fans, players, other managers, reporters... anyone, really.
It might be time for Ozzie to take a look in the mirror before he starts criticizing others.
