Not surprising, Tiger Woods is on top of the "Five to Watch"
list for the Buick Open this weekend. Also not surprisingly, Rocco Mediate and 2003 Tournament winner, Jim Furyk, make the five as well.
What is surprising though, is that John Daly joins them, in fifth spot. Last year around this time, John was entertaining the gallery at the Pro-Am with his beer can tee shot: Whether he will be able to stay calm and play golf remains to be seen, but he did, as Busbee says, have a decent British Open, although it was overshadowed by Tom Watson playing so well and Tiger not playing well at all.
Buick is expected to announce that they will be pulling their sponsorship of the Open at Warwick Hills after this tournament, given the economic downturn and the dire stratights General Motors has found themselves in this past year.
The Michigan course is a favorite of the players and fans alike, with it's personal, small town like atmosphere. The players love to play the course which emphasizes the short game, rather than the long shots, and the same fans are likely to turn up year after year, something the players do notice and enjoy.
This weekend's tournament will be one to watch, whether for Tiger's "expected" come back or Daly's "anticipated" antics.
