Poker Players Alliance Hires Drew Lesofski
Here’s a thought! Every company or association should have a very well determined structure based on hierarchy, and every spot in that branching tree should be there for a very good reason. Else there are going to be a lot of people just doing nothing, or, on the contrary, too little people doing too much work. Within the Poker Players Alliance (PPA in short), there was a recent opening that needed filling, and the board decided that the best man for the job is Drew Lesofski, a former Senior Federal Policy Advisor. He was anointed director of the company's grassroots and external affairs, a very demanding position. Given his file, there's no doubt in anybody's mind that he'll be up to the task.
He's no stranger to online gambling, as his previous post's job description had him overlook a diverse portfolio of issues, among which education and gaming of all sorts, gambling included. Of course, his vast experience includes more than just that, as he was also responsible for the immigration and healthcare problems that might have risen, but those two are of little importance now.
His political history goes way back, though, to the days of working for the Department of Health and Human Services, as part of a team focusing mainly on Native American grant programs. In a funny way, that might be linked to his current position because we all know that some people joke about the fact that the Native Americans have given up living in wigwams and started building casinos in stead, no pun intended.
Even further back, Lesofski began his career in Washington as a policy aid for both Washington State Legislature and the United States' Department of Education. I'm not quite sure how that might help his situation now, but I guess that a program teaching youngsters how to play poker better might somehow fit in with the 'education' part of his personal history.
Drew Lesofski was brought on board by the PPA to manage the seemingly ever growing local base, and it was in due time, as well. Alfonse D'Amato, the Poker Players Alliance chairman said that "As we get closer to reaching the million-member milestone, it is more important than ever for PPA to find new ways to energize and mobilize our members. [...] Drew’s policy and political campaign experience will be an asset to PPA as we further refine and augment our grassroots program."
I don't know about you, but my guess is that Lesofski's previous work will somehow influence the decision making process at an even higher level, given his understanding of certain law related phenomena. And, why not, he might even turn to be a great asset due to his connections, but that's just speculating!
