Packers to put a squash on fan misbehavior in 2008
8/26/08

I can tell you from personal my experience on this one... my first trip to Lambo Field, December 31st, 2007 with the stadium throwback style seating, most everyone is on a bleacher type of seat, which people can take up some extra space ( most guys don't sit nice and tight together or legs crossed ) so on this balmy day in in Green bay, two lovely young ladies come and sit on the bleacher bench next to me and first thing I am greeted with is a smile and then a complaint about the available seating room for the others in their party...

I politely looked to my left and then back to my right and said to them, no problem we will all deal with that issue when the rest of your party shows up, for now there is plenty of room for everyone... have a seat...

a little time passes, unknown to me the rest of their party shows up, and a Lions fan proceeds to bull charge and slam into me sitting on the bench, attempting to push down the line of fans on the bench to make room for seating, with no warning, no question...

now I'm 6'3 and plenty large... and really didn't budge much... sitting next to me is 3 of my closest friends ( the kind of friends that would take a bullet for you... honest I know I been stabbed in a fight previous years ago for one of them, a story for another day )

I don't know if it was the high I was on from actually being in my chosen " Home Team " stadium, but when my other friends were ready to go to war... I quickly stopped it... and tried to blow it off... simply thinking to myself this guy has no clue what he had just done, its best if I give him a pass on this day, as my friends and I did not fly across the US, spend hundreds of dollars each on 9th row 20 yard line Lambo Field sideline tickets on a New Years Eve game just to stomp some lame Lions fans...

the game starts... the teams battle... Favre sits after the first quarter... and the BEER servers come by our row to push some beverages on us, now until this day I have never seen what you would call a DEER IN HEADLIGHTS before... but when my friend stood up and ordered 8 beers... two for each of us ( as they were serving MGD and those drink like water ) the Lions Fan next to me looked like he just shit himself,  he had no clue I was with backup... ( it seems most people at the game in Lambo are His & Hers, there is almost as many female packers fans as male in the stadium it seemed like )  so I could only assume he thought I was a kind local who is very polite, the kind to stay away from confrontation...

I can tell you by the end of the game, I have never had my ass kissed by anyone in 2007 more then from this guy... he apologized, not once but twice..  and tried to make small talk, I accepted the apology and with firm confidence just gave him a look like you don't what shit storm I stopped for you right now... if we were home... in California lets say at a Raiders game... or possibly Chargers depending on setting section.... atop him being the fan for the visiting team, that pulled this type of bonehead move... he would have been pounded... not by only myself and 3 friends... but the rest of the crowd...  ( now don't get me wrong I'm not saying game day fighting or violence is a good thing, I do not condone it... but it happens... and it happens allot more out here in Oakland and is spreading into San Diego, serious metal detectors and major pat down checks in line just to get in stadium )

to finish if you actually read everything above, I am glad to see the Packers leading by example, I hope the rest of the NFL teams take to a policy like this one, and bring back the stadiums to the fans who are there to enjoy the game... especially lets start here in California...
